Email Marketing Manager

The Email Marketing Manager will be our email marketing champion for our fun loving, energetic, “work hard, play hard,” results-driven Marketing team. Email is an ever-growing channel to our success, and we are looking for a professional to help take email and direct response marketing to the next level for Cali Bamboo. This role is both creative and analytical. The Email Marketing Manager will own several phases of email and direct response campaigns from mapping target segmentation, developing creative concepts, building email campaigns, deployment, and optimization.   • Manage the day-to-day activities to execute current email programs and launch new direct response initiatives for Cali Bamboo.
  • Develop, edit and customize content and images for triggered, transactional, and promotional emails to ensure content is accurate, timely, and on-brand.
  • Collaborate with Cali Bamboo Creative Services, Sales, Customer Service, and Product teams to secure assets and proper content for direct response campaigns to hit deadlines.
  • Own, build and execute a comprehensive email marketing calendar that considers the various events that impact e-mail campaigns (sales promotions, seasonal opportunities, etc.). 
  • Evaluate competitive space to recommend/adopt best practices. 
  • Manage email creative review process among key stakeholders to meet brand and sales goals.
  • Work with IT and Ops to solve technical issues and advance email execution, database segmentation, and results analysis.
  • Build out a customer segmentation strategy with Sales and Marketing to include lead scoring implementation.
  • Build and deploy all emails in Netsuite. Facilitate email campaign list selection.
  • Profile best target customers from the customer database and apply to list buying.
  • Strategize, plan, and execute A/B tests to increase customer engagement and conversions.  
  • Own email conversion path from email deployment to actual sale.
  • Achieve email lead and sales goals.
  • Field and prioritize all email requests from other departments and communicate details of the promotional calendar, timing, and information needed to those teams and management.
  • Build email campaigns, to include formatting emails and developing content for landing pages.
  • Develop regional campaigns and Channel specific campaigns.
  • Report/Forecast email marketing program performance; educate key stakeholders.
  • Create long-term messaging strategies.
  • Identify, document and apply email communications best practices.
  • Perform uploads to email database and ensure correct sources and attributes are assigned.


  • 4+ years experience developing, deploying, and optimizing email campaigns.
  • Thorough understanding of email performance metrics and benchmarks, helping drive and optimize key traffic and revenue metrics including deliverability, CTR, open rates, incremental revenue lift, engagement, and retention. 
  • Familiar with A/B testing best practices.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills (e.g. charting, formulas, analysis, etc.).
  • Must be a team-player, able to effectively communicate with various departments/stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and “get-it-done’ attitude. 
  • Attention to detail for proofing creative output.    
  • Proficient in the use of email tools: Netsuite or similar platforms.
  • Working knowledge of HTML and websites or email content management systems.
  • Minimum Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or related field.

  • Ability to work independently and to manage various projects on a daily basis with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to segment a comprehensive email list into multiple targets. 
  • Sound problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent analytical, written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team, including cross-cultural teams.
